9:08:00 PMDo you need some inspiration? Here is a social housing project I believe worths to share!
Torre Julia is a social housing project in outside skirts of Barcelona. It is located by the side of the motorway and sharing the same area with another housing project and a sport center. Architects Pau Vidal, Sergi Pons, Ricard Galiana design 77 home units for elderly in this 17 floor building. Three different color you can see on the facade represents 3 different community lives in the building and creates orientation. As Pons said in one interview; They used yellow and two shades of green, one lighter and one darker on the facade because these colours are uplifting whilst also calming.
The most inspring element in the project is well connected common spaces.
Floor Plans - Common Spaces of the community |
The exterior stairs are creating the terraces looking out to Barcelona skyline. As an addition to this every community has a bigger area for their own common gatherings. The last space is the roof garden which is open the use of every inhabitant to give elderly people an opportunity to socialize and engage in community activities..
